Celebs Rush In To Help Utah Janitor
A number of U.S. celebrities have kicked in to help a group of Utah junior high students trying to raise money for their school’s janitor.
The students at Olympus Junior High School in Salt Lake City have put together an online charity auction to help Terry Birch afford cochlear implants that will allow the deaf janitor to hear, MTV.com reports.
Birch and his wife, who is also deaf, have been overwhelmed by medical bills as she continues to battle breast cancer, MTV said.
Among the celebrities who contributed items are Alicia Keys, John Mayer, Denzel Washington, Matthew McConaughey, Elijah Wood, John Travolta, Ryan Cabrera and the Bravery.
There are also tickets to the premiere of the Jack Black comedy “Nacho Libre,” as well as autographed items from Magic Johnson, Wayne Gretzky, Steve Young and members of the world champion Pittsburgh Steelers.
Details on the auction can be found at

Ryan Cabrera, Method-acting legend Harvey Keitel and sitcom superstar Frankie Muniz all in the same film? The trio have made plans to star in “My Sexiest Year,” a coming-of-age comedy whose unlikely cast also includes Haylie Duff, Nick Zano (TV’s “What I Like About You”) and Amber Valletta ("Transporter 2"). As if the casting news isn’t strange enough, Muniz said the film is his final role before he quits acting to follow his dream of becoming a professional race car driver. It will mark the big-screen acting debut, however, of “On the Way Down” singer Cabrera. No word yet on whether they’ll expand the dimensions of theater screens to accommodate Cabrera’s hair...
